Amigo League Quick Facts:
The Amigo League is a draft league based on the most recent past season. Our rules/structure attempts to produce realistic results, but not at the expense of fun. We are not trying to recreate the past season exactly, but we are baseball purists at heart who want to see as realistic results as possible. We do not believe in limiting playing times for part-time players, but we do have statistic-minimums for players. We like all the the what-if scenarios that can be played out with part-time players. What if the guy who was on pace for 50 homeruns was able to play a full season? He most likely wouldn't have hit that many in real-life, and, probably won't in our league either, but we think it's fun to see what he can do, not limit him.
League Type: Centralized, keeper league. Games are simmed on the commissioner's computer one series at a time. You are allowed to keep as many players on your roster from the previous year as you like, but must end up with 29 after the draft.
League Dues: None
Season Length: 162 game, unbalanced schedule.
Salary Cap: NO!
Roster/player eligibility: 29 players total, 25 active. You can carry any combo of batters and pitchers you wish as long as you have at least four starting pitchers and one player rated at each defensive position as long as they meet league minimums. League minimums for batters are 150 ABs, pitchers 30 games or 50 innings pitched. Also, starting pitchers who start less than 5 games can only start twice as many games as they started in real-life.
